Applying the Scrum Master Role within a SAFe Enterprise Certified SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) 6.0

Operational and Assessable Objectives:

  • Build your skills as a high-performing team member of an Agile Release Train (ART)—and prepare to support the facilitation of ART and team events— when you become a SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM).
  • Unlike traditional Scrum Master training that focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, the SAFe Scrum Master course explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise and prepares you to successfully plan and execute the Planning Interval (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization.

Prerequisite

All are welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are highly recommended for those who intend to take the SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) 6.0 certification exam:

  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and principles
  • Awareness of Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP)
  • Working knowledge of software and hardware development processes

What the training includes:

  • Attendee workbook
  • Eligibility to take the SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) 6.0 certification exam
  • One-year membership to SAFe Studio
  • Course certificate of completion

Attendees must attend all of the course in order to qualify for the exam.

How and when to access:

For public trainings, registrations are done through Eventbrite, by following the links on this page or on social networks. We offer 2 public trainings of each type per year (about 6 months delay). For private trainings, you can contact us at [email protected] to get a quote. We can then proceed with the planning of your training and the registration of your employees (about 1 month delay).

  • Training provided in French or English
  • Face-to-face or distance learning
  • Workbook and course material in English
  • Materials for practical exercises
  • Evaluation of the training via interactive questionnaires during the training to verify the acquisition of knowledge
  • Platforms and tools used: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Mural, Miro, Drive

Passing the Certification :

Upon completion of the training, candidates will receive a link to the SAFe Community platform and can take the exam. The first test is included in the training within 30 days. Each new test will cost $50, payable directly on the SAFe Studio platform.

  • Question format: Multiple choice (one answer) or multiple select (2-3 answers)
  • Method: Web-based, closed book, no outside assistance, timed
  • Duration: 1,5 hour (90 minutes)
  • Number of questions: 45
  • Passing score: 35/45 (77%)
  • Languages offered: English

At the end of the exam, you receive your results immediately.

After passing the exam, the candidate receives their certification which is valid for 1 year. This must be renewed annually and costs $100/year or through the SAFe Enterprise Subscription (SES).
