Agility by practice

Agility is a set of values, principles but also a whole panoply of agile practices that have evolved over nearly 20 years. In this training, we will go through and practice the Scrum agility framework but also XP and lean Kanban. We will see the main agile roles in the Scrum framework as well as the extended agile roles that are generally found in companies.

Operational and Assessable Objectives:

We will do a simulation of the Scrum framework to fully experience the different roles of the Product Owner, Scrum Master and the team. Then we will give the tools to start an agile project, to run iterations and finally to follow up on projects in agile mode.

Topics covered

Starting a Scrum Project: Overview of Best Practices for Starting a Scrum Project (Sprint-0, Inception, Definition of Done, Definition of Loan, and Ground Rules). Scrum project monitoring: Path through the different Scrum project monitoring means (Burndown chart, Burnup Chart, Cumulative Workflow, Taskboard). Kanban: Understanding of Kanban as part of an Agile project. Feature Ban (optional): Simulation of the Kanban framework.

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Understanding agile principles and values: History of agility and overview of agile values and principles.
  • What is Scrum? Introduction to the most popular agile framework. History of Scrum and overview of Scrum roles, events and artifacts.
  • The project management paradigm shift: Looking back at agile practice and understanding the paradigm shifts underlying the implementation of agility.

Prerequisite

All profiles are welcome to take this course, regardless of your experience. This course aims to introduce you to the ceremonies and agile methods.
